Welcome! I’m happy you’re considering Mindfulness-based, contemplative care services. Foremost, I support you in caring wisely and compassionately for yourself, those you love, and the world around you. Since 1990, I’ve passionately walked alongside those in hospital, education, addiction/recovery, and incarcerated spaces. My personal experiences supporting immediate family members with mental illness, incarceration, and substance abuse greatly inform my approach to teaching wise and compassionate response. I’m a facilitator and co-leader of the nonprofit Wise Caregiving, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and certification as a mindfulness facilitator and educator. I’ve been in the health care field since 1990, serving as a Department Head, and for the last twenty-five years as a Nationally Certified ASL Interpreter. I’ve taught at Lake Tahoe Community College since 1995 and founded Lake Tahoe Mindfulness Community (2014) and Mindful Recovery for Families/Lotuses in the Mud (2021). In 2017, I ordained into Thich Nhat Hanh’s Order of Interbeing and I’m a Zen Peacemaker, embodying my vows to alleviate suffering through the practice of mindfulness, and indigenous and contemplative means.
Trigger Warning: Active addiction is discussed in this talk, please take care of yourself when watching.
